Blues Traveler, Boys II Men top Alive@Five lineup

The Alive at Five concert series will kick off Thursday, June 19, in Columbus Park with jam band Blues Traveler and close Aug 7 with the R&B group Boyz II Men.

Good Job LYNN. This thing gets better and better. This event has come a long way. My only advice for change is that you make it on FRIDAYs. Then I can stop trying to find excuses to call in sick the next day!!!!! They just don't believe I have the FLU in July.....

I'm taking a survey - is it "safe" to allow my 17-year-old daughter to attend (with two boys and another girl)? I'm not too thrilled about it and I don't think it's safe. The answer might just be NO!

I think there will be issues there tonight. While your Kids may not be trouble makers that does not mean trouble will not find them.

I'd say no as well.

instead of going out with her friends, she's shopping and making dinner....I wouldn't eat without a food taster!

That's funny. No, she's a good kid. She understands my reasons and said it's not a big deal, that she wanted to hear just one song anyway. Her boyfriend is staying for dinner. It was a tough ride home, though, I tell ya. Lots and lots of people heading down there!

I told her she can go when she's 18, or if she had an adult accompany her (not me) who had children and one that I trusted. I gave her a few names, and she opted not to go.

The concert was great.. there were no fights no probs.. "People let your kids out the house, it's not like we live in yonkers! ha i grew up there by the way..hehe. I'm 26 F now. Stamford is a safe town. Just make sure you talk to your kids about drugs and safe sex. You'd be surprised what 85% of them are doing and not letting you know. IT's a shame.... But Communication is what it's all about. Trust me. Just talk to them. THey'll behave.
