Actually, he reported it as it stands in the box score, a 44yd TD pass.
Do you want an * on every TD that happens in the NFL because I'm sure there's something during eaach play that contributes to the TD?
I'm not a Quinn fan, just a realist. That's nit-picking towards the writer, get over it.
It isn't nitpicking if you bank on getting those kind of breaks all season. That is not a common occurance in any NFL game. It does not mean disaster but it sure is nothing to say, "Bet we'll see that one int the playbook now". Therefore, it can be given little credibility towards being a play to hang your hat on.
That being said, it is preseason, and that means that by the 4th wk of reg. season you'll probably see an immensely different outcome to how the players play, good or bad.
It looks like many will get their wish to see Quinn lead the team now. Remember, to those Q-lovers, you asked for it and it looks like your gonna get it.

I think you're mis-interpreting what i meant with the * but whatever.

Without Josh Cribbs on the kickoff teams, we have no one to provide a game saving tackle or break through the wall for a loss.
He also has a TV show, can throw the ball, catch the ball, strip the ball and make perfect tackles.
Can we clone this guy? It's the only way we will see the playoffs this year!
Did you actually watch the game? Steptoe looked pretty good in his kick returns. Didn't notice if he was on coverage making plays.

Losing Cribbs was not that big of a deal. The Browns were not prepared. Crennel admitted that they had been taking it easy in practice, less contact, and all that. It showed, so hopefully they'll get more physical. But with Anderson and Edwards still out for the next game, I wouldn't expect huge improvement in the offense against Detroit.

Let's see how they do in the first couple of regular season games. Same would apply if they were 2-0 and dominated their first two pre-season games. That rarely carries over to how teams perform in the regular season.

Steve G, I agree that Steptoe did a very nice job on returns. I don't know if he was also on the coverage teams, but that is one area that definitely suffered without Cribbs as the gunner.

I have to wonder whether Ridenour was watching the same game I was.
It specifically says that Anderson botched the handoff to Jamal. I just have to disagree with that statement. I strongly disagree with that statement (A little "A few good men" moment). The handoff was in the gut, Jamal never got the handle on it.
Sometimes these sportswriters don't have a clue what they are talking about. When that happens, its hard to pay attention to anything else they say,

I was kinda wondering if Lewis was expecting a play fake and Anderson was expecting a handoff.
