Question: If Uggla is on first standing a few steps from the first base coach Andy Fox then why the hell does he have to look all the way over to third base coach Bo Porter for a steal sign????
Usually 1B coach watches pitcher for move to 1st. Runner can see 3B coach while also looking at pitcher. Surely teams differ but most relay signs through 3B coach.

Would you guys jump in with your opinions about this---I think I've figured out Fredo. Is it possible that he isn't tough enough because he feels since he didn't play that he does not feel comfortable about calling guys out for mistakes. Is it possible he thinks he doesn't have the pedigree of his own to offer criticism. Know it sounds crazy--as it has never stopped all the other managers who never attained on the field--but his MEEKNESS with these guys is almost OVERWHELMING. He has all the fire of a candle in Antartica. When those eyes of his start to resemble the Runaway Bride From Atlanta it just makes me sick. Wonder if players respect him or just tolerate him??
I've thought about this myself. I beat myself in the head when I see stupid moves. Cantu should have been in yesterday's game. The way he Fredi carries extra pitching over having a Dallas McPherson on the beanch. The inability to move runners over. The game where Utley went to third with no one covering the bag. Hanging curve balls up in the zone on a 0-2 count to Molina. Uggla's steal attempts. It's just too bewildering to me???

You've totally missed the point. It's not that they lost, it's that they had their heads in their asses. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, but you should never play bad baseball.

Willingham not swinging the bat with one out and the tying run on third in the eighth inning was bad baseball.

Uggla attempting a steal, down two in the ninth, was bad baseball.

And that was just the last two innings.

Play hard, play smart but don't play like you've just stepped on a diamond for the first time.

And it's about time South Florida learns what the product on the field is supposed to look like.

They're not kids, they're major leaguers. They've been through high school, some of them college, and the minor leagues. When they play in the big leagues, they're supposed to know how.

Gimme a break people. It was one loss. Yesterday I bet you were saying the Fish were winning the division for sure, and today it's Fredi is a bad manager and Uggla is useless. That's the kind of crummy fair weather fan talk that needs to go back to whatever city it came from. They are no further back in the standings then they were yesterday. For all we know they could take the next 3 vs. the Cards. Talk crap about the manager and players in October if they don't make it, not now, and even then, real fans don't trash a team of young kids no one expected to climb past last place for falling out of the race in September. It won't matter though, because they'll win the division and Freddi will get Manager of the Year and we'll have another parade in November. GO FISH!!

Hermida just killed a big night by Hanram where he was on base 4-4 with NO OUTS. Please move him out of the 2 slot. And I like Cantu as much as the next guy but he cant play 162 games. But if Hermida did anything except KO and hit into DP's we win last night.

Speaking of 5 tools, Hermida is really a ZERO tool guy. He cant do anything well. If you watch him trying to steal a base you'll notice that he's so slow, that leaves change color DURING THE RUN. And how someone gets to the majors without learning how to bunt is just beyond me.

And just to add to that...how does a coach or manager get to the show and not know how to teach and coach someone who is missing certain skills?
Other than Amezaga (and he's shaky) I don't see anyone who knows how to bunt.

Did you also notice that with 2 out and 1 on, they didn't give Hanley anything to hit because Herm was up next...it hurts Hanley to have a sure out behind him in the order.

Are you guys starting to find this hard to watch!!! I'm almost to the point that I'm contemplating going to the Sportsclub around 7:00, doing my hour on the elliptical and then driving home and checking score on the internet before I turn it on. If they are behind I'll just forget about.

The thing that aggravates me the most are the Glazed and SICKENING BLANK looks on Hermida, Willingham and Uggla's faces after another horrific at bat. That eye blinking, chiropractic dream Willingham is the epitome of not giving a rat's bottom about how he performs. How can anyone on the cusp of arbitration at over 6 foot 2 inches and 200 pounds go up to the plate seemingly DETERMINED to look at as many good pitches as humanely possible. MORON, LOOK FASTBALL early in the count, entire league knows you go up there acting like a Punch and Judy utility infielder. Why not just crouch down like that midget Bill Veeck brought up in the 30's, maybe then you won't have to swing at all---PITIFUL!!!!!

I basically think Gonzo is through, but I much prefer him in there at least TRYING and showing some semblance of an approach.

Maybin probably isn't ready--BUT it's obvious Willingham and Hermida will NEVER be ready so I've reached the point--Go for the Youth and potential and hope you find lightning in a bottle because only thing you will catch from Hermida and Willingham is a state of depression.

Gentlemen and Ladies, Tomorrow from 3:05-6:00 PM I will be on for your listening pleasure. Will squeeze out as much Marlins' diatribe as a South Carolina market will allow.

Listen on-line. Go to ESPN1400am--Must put the AM in there or I think you go to Denver instead of Spartanburg. I will make it worth your time and I'm betting most of you will say--"Hey, we need that guy in this market"--Not to blow my own horn BUT--Toot Toot!! By the way, I'm Sweet Lou on the radio. I co-host every Wednesday.

It will be worth it just to hear me callout the Marlins' BUTT KISSING TV CREW which I promise to do in first half an hour.

Well, Hermida is batting 2nd!! Our Fredo is far DUMBER than Michael's brother who took that ill fated boat ride to do some fishing in Nevada. In fact if FREDO GONZALEZ would have been Michael Corleone's brother, I'm sure both the Don and Michael would have sought out assistance for him.

seems the marlins players need to work on their discipline.the game is not that hard.however, common sense when in crucial situations should be comfortable for experienced players.
