Fight On For Wheeler High!!!
Lou, Are you 12? Every day you sound like a little kid, bitching and bitching. You rip Hermida, but he has the exact same numbers as Gonzalez. You act like a child, talking about bringing De Aza signs to the park, you really are a fool. I am sick of your act.

Im Tired of it!!!!!!! Missed opportunities, awfull decisions and the babying of these Grown man. Willigham and Hermida need a gut check. They have done absolutly nothin and still find themselves in the order. the ONLY thing Josh is cleaning up is the opposing pitchers mess. The organization needs to show some passion and commitment and go out and get a corner outfielder. Theys missed on Manny, hey thats alright we tried. BUT they have sheffield and bonds among others out there and make no effort to help the ballclub. THE TIME IS NOW!!!!!! Phillies and Mets are struggling, go and get a cleanup man who will actually be FEARED in the lineup. By the way, the marlins DONT have good offense in fact they have NO offense, their top hitter is hanley and he is under 300. If you look at the averages in this team is disgusting.260.250.240.220. I mean come on. GET ANOTHER BAT DARNETTT!!!!!!! YOUR PISSING ME OFF FRONT OFFICE SHOW SOME COMMITMENT.

Allan B: tell you what, I'll adjust my attitude. Try this:

Hey, did you see that terrific swing Josh Willingham put on that ball he grounded to third in the eighth inning? So what if it led to a rally-killing double play? It was a really great swing! And how about that throw into home plate? Well, maybe it did let the runners advance, but did you see how high it went? I mean, why are we paying Richard Branson a hundred grand to ride into space when Josh can throw a ball up there by himself? And how about that Fredi Gonzalez? You have to admire a guy who sticks with his players no matter how badly they're doing. I mean, he must have known that Josh would put that great swing on the ball and drive it to third like a pro. I think he must have been sitting there with Davey Johnson's old laptop with those extra ROMs full of stats, calculating the odds against Josh striking out yet again. Aw, he knew Josh would make contact, and Josh didn't let him down!

Rocky: so let me understand this: it's a comment blog, so we're not allowed to comment? It's the lowest paid team in baseball, so we have to forgive their bloopers to the plate that allow runners to move up, constant windmill swings from the heels on pitches way out of the strike zone, absurd baserunning mistakes like the one Uggla made the other night, and managerial blunders like letting a struggling player with a bad back bat in a critical situation ? Yes, blowhard, we know they're not getting paid much. It may even be that they're getting paid exactly what they're worth. But - and pay close attention to this thought - they do have a better record than a lot of teams who get paid a lot more, and teams with huge payrolls have finished in the cellar. Which is a roundabout way of saying that if you attribute their play on the field to their payroll, you really have inflated cojones to come on here and accusing others of not knowing the game - especially when you've offered nothing but vapid insults and no analytical thoughts about the game yourself. Now, here's another radical thought for you: because we're fans, and we care about this team, we want to see them do b-e-t-t-e-r. It's a challenging concept, but perhaps you can assimilate it if given enough time.

And to that hayseed nitwit up in the boonies: yep, I pay to go to the games because they're fun. I'm a real fan who supports his team materially, unlike a lot of the gasbags - yourself included - who come on here and expectorate gibberish and gratuitous insults instead of contributing any insights into what's going on on the field that can be kicked around and debated. I frankly have no idea why people like you even bother seeking out a blog from an out of town paper just to come in here and **** on the floor. Hell, my dog can do that - except that, unlike you, he's trained not to.

The greatest sin is that the Marlins, probably through pure dumb luck, have perhaps the best young starting pitchers in baseball, and back them up with the dumbest management and worst position players (except Cando) in baseball. Wasn't it amazing how Hermida woke up after realizing he wasn't getting traded for Manny. Hermida showed that he needs a little kick in the butt every now and then to get straightened out.

Maybe the Marlins should spread rumors that Josh and Dan are on the trade block. After all we know they can be productive when they're in sync.

I'm still behind these guys all the way. I can't stand to read some of the so called Marlins fans who write idiotic BS in this blog. Go Marlins! 1.5 games back on 8/14. Could be worse. Could be the Nats with our payroll.

I just e-mailed Mike Berardino appealing to his sense of integrity to document the abject failures that are Willingham and Hermida. I implored him to just pretend that he is in a REAL baseball market and to go after these two stiffs like what would occur in Boston, Chicago, New York, Detroit and on and on. I promise you BOTH of THESE HORRIFIC STIFFS will be traded before the Marlins offer them arbitration.
In arbitration the player just starts out with a ridiculously high number--the team counters with own number and even if arbitrator rules for team, the player still get a huge raise. Is there anyone with an IQ in double digits who believes these guys deserve a raise??

Can I sue the Marlins?? I literally can't fall asleep as a result of replaying those Willingham at bats in my mind.
By the way, has anyone noticed our second baesman has the range of Charlie manual??? How many balls did this guy dive for today and NOT ONE diod he get to---Unbelievable!!
Well, Dodgers helped us ouy again , and the catalyst is you know who!!
Yes Lou, you can sue. Any **** can sue any other ****. That what makes America great. Just give a lawyer about $20,000, and another $15,000 for a trial, and you can sue all the Marlins and their manager Freddi. But Lou, you need a good reason to sue and receive money back from Marlins. Lack of sleep is not a good reason. Try 40 sleeping pills, and get back to us later if that helped you out. Why don'y ou arte a letter first before you sue the Marlins. Maybe they let you throw out the first pitch or give you one of their broken bats not to sue them!

I find the Marlins to be amazingly lucky. Here we are 75 per cent of the season is over and they are 1.5 games out of first place. It is kind of frustrating that now I believe the Marlins have the best starting pitching in the National League. Since the All Star break most of the Marlins pitching either had quality starts or close to quality starts. It's time for the offense to play some small ball to move runners up. I love the 3 run homers but sometimes the Marlins lose out by not advancing the runners.

If the Marlins don't win tonight, they are headed for a five game losing streak by the time the Cubs leave town. Marlins will face Zambrano, Lilly and Dempster in the series.

Only reason why the Marlins are still in this division race, is that both the Mets and Phills also suck.

Remember how the Yankees turn down the Santana trade from the Twins when they wanted Hughes and Kennedy?

Yankees need to make their move now or they will be out also.

Only one team from the N.L. East is heading to the playoffs. Who will be that team?

Rays won in extra innings last night.

I believe the Marlins should replace Freddi with either Bullshark from Miami or Lou from South Carolina.

One guy has no clue about baseball, sounds like an old man who wets his pants, smells like vomit when he shows up at the ALL-U-Can eat games, and wears adult diapers. And then there is the other guy named Lou.

Maybe it is this hot weather affecting the players. Or could it be we have an over-rated bullpen? Sometimes a manager needs a good talk with his team of where do they want to go. Ths could be the time for Freddie to do this.

Where is that super-star outfielder we got from the Tigers?

Who thinks Uggla will get a long term deal from the Marlins?

First--Thank You To All My Fans.

Now Hear This----The people who I respect on this board and myself have worked out a code by which we have exchanged phone numbers. It was complicated, but obviously doable. Therefore if the salacious comments continue in my direction I will have no alternative but to bid adieu and let the miscreants wage internecine warfare with the somewhat reasonable posters on the board. I have found out over the last month that it is much easier to vent on the phone with intelligent people than to communicate with composte.

First off, I would AGAIN say to MARLINS FAN(and OTHERS)--Your criticism would be much more valid if you had the attributes usually associated with masculinity to put your REAL name on this board. Would take guts!! But you have cajones right?? Right?? Marlins Fan--My Butt!! I'm the one who cares enough about this team to place VERY PLEASANT phone calls to announcers suggesting how they might RIP!!!!!!!! some of the canine like performances and I Give My Name and Phone Number--BECAUSE I'm not a GUTLESS, SPINELESS HIT and RUN ARTIST, HIDE BEHIND A COMPUTER IDIOT!! I also care about this team that I ventured up to the seats in the club level right below the press box and entertained them--and they were entertained with my DeAza comments--I then trooped into the concourse level and gave the signs to press box security outside the main press box and requested they bring them up to the booth. It seems crew may not have been entertained so I then VOICED my opinions about DeAza's mishandling.

My gutless, spineless friends this takes intestinal fortitude and a sense of DO NO!!!! Harm, but get your point across to people who can EYEBALL you--Not like you punks with the silly made-up names.

Come to think of it--I'm going nowhere. I'm 60 years old, affluent, paid off house, paid off condo downtown, no debt of ANY kind, and the ability to travel when and where I want---SO why should or would I give a blank about some dudes probably living in mommy's basement???

Baseball commentary comes next!!

O
There's a lot of truth to that. None of these teams are playing as if they want it. However, if either the Mets or Phillies (or both) get hot, the Marlins won't be able to keep up. They have good starting pitching but their bullpen is erratic, their fundamentals are...uh...well, suspect, their clutch hitting has become just about nonexistent and their defense is poor enough to be the losing difference in too many close games they would have to win, and they have perhaps the worst manager in the major leagues. Worse, they seem to be playing without any fire at the moment. If the Phillies and Mets beat each other up badly enough, the Fish might squeak by, but at this point I wouldn't bet on it. As the three contending teams are playing now, I suspect that the one with the best of the slightly better than .500 records will make it as far as the first round of the playoffs, but probably not much further.

As for the Yankees, forget it. They've had too many injuries and weren't a better team than Boston to begin with. I wouldn't be surprised to discover that half of their veterans were osteoporotic at this point. Tampa has been a great story but they now have their hands full with Crawford and Longoria both KO'd for the duration. Even with Lowell on the 15-day DL, I have to like Boston in the AL East. He'll probably be back by early September for the stretch run, Bay has been a great addition to the team and Big Papi seems finally to be hitting his stride.

The schedule for the Marlins does not look good.

They have a game with Cardinals today.
Three at home with the Cubs.
Three in San Fran
Three in Arizona
Three in Atlanta
then three with the Mets at home to finish up the month

I see a 7 - 9 record from now to the end of the month. Anything more would be great, anything less, it will be the end for this season.

I also see the Malins playing only .500 in September.

When these other N.L. East teams lose, the Marlins need to gain some ground. That what championship teams do.

But we should be grateful the Marlins did not end up what these baseball experts said in the beginning of the season. I believe they had Washington ahead of us.

This team is young, has talent, has emerging stars. Front office and scouts are rated #1. But once they build that new stadium down in Miami, then let the illegals from Miami support the team then.

Only way the Marlins will get the fans out to a game would be only on "give away" nights, have All-U-Can eat mexican food, or have a band from Cuba pounce on some drums and have their women dance with fruit on their head or get those Marlin cheerleaders do the strip on top of the dugouts during the 7th inning stretch.

Last time Atlanta looked that bad was when General Sherman marched through the town and burned it down to the ground.

Who will more football games this year, Miami Dolphins or the prison team that Michael Vick will be on?

Go Cubs Go

Go Cubs Co

Hey Chicago Wadda you say

Ah Lou, don't let the virtual phages on here get you down. Are we getting too old to enjoy an occasional dustup? Go over to Lackluster Video and rent "The Quiet Man" with John Wayne and Victor McLaghlan. Observe the epic twenty minute long fistfight between the two of them on the village common that closes the film. It will renew your spirit for the trials ahead.
