Ex-Surry deputy says he had uphill fight in Vick case
“Every time you met with him, it was a very unsettling, uncomfortable, degrading conversation”

Here it is in black and white. We all knew that Poindexter and Brown attempted to protect Michael Vick, probably because they themselves had been spectators @ the house of horrors on Moonlight Drive. Disgusting, and even more disgusting that Brown and Poindexter were re-elected. Says alot about the residents of Surrey County. No wonder Vick chose that area to buy his dog fighting compound and to stage those horrific fights.
Surely Poindexter and Brown will get what is coming to them one day as well. They protect criminals, making it unsafe to live in their jurisdiction. Even Rosa Parks was not safe from robbery and muggings, and I don't suppose Poindexter nor Brown are either. |

their forum is country as hell! My Mother and Father are from the country and it takes a long time to get progress there. I can remember when the judges where my Mother lived used to tell people to try to remember it's not legal to beat your wife.

1 Before I rushed to make conclusons I carefully examined what was stated. First question - why did the investigator wait until now to provide an interview? If he believed he had been discriminated against or unduly fired he should have reported this to the employment commission. Question - did he report this firing. Second - although he proclaims his firing was due to his involvement in the Vick case, others issues were involved which will be revealed. third - Vick's attorneys could question him regarding some of the statements he made involving evidence. The federal govrnment has yet to say what evidence it possessed. During the Virginia trial he or the governmment will be asked to present the evidence. Before jumping to conclusions I will wait until the evidence is presented. fourth - Pondixter must present his evidence during the trial in Virginia. At that time the defense attorney can question and examine the evidence. The federal authories can intervene if they believe that the prosecutor is not presenting all of the evidence. The whole truth will not be revealed until the trial and all evidence is presented. I guarantee that evidence will be examined by the press and others if you get my drift. Unlike you I will make no statements concerning the guilt or innocence of Vick. I will wait until the trial. You might ask what is my interest. I find the whole saga interesting. My only desire is that the truth be revealed whether favorably or unfavorably for Vick. The truth should speak for itself. I guarantee no "rock" will be left unexamined. |

1 When responding to anyone and about anything I attempt to avoid all insults. People often use insults, etc, when they have nothing better to say. I am not a regular on this site. I don't sit around and think of thinks to say. Call me what you want. My concern continues to be the truth. Recently an individual was released in Texas. He spent 27 years in prison for a crime he did not commit. I am ot saying Michael Vick is not guilty. I am mrely saying I would like to hear all of the information before I make a judgment about the situation. To date all of the information has not been revealed. I hope that information will be revealed in Virginia. The prosecutor must preent his evidnce, the defense will then examine it. Some want to suggest that the prosecutor will not present all of the evidence. I guarantee you this will be observing and screening what occurres in the courtroom. I am pragmatic. Unlike some I attempt to avoid extreme emotional reactions. I do not voice hatred toward anyone. I am not a Michael Vick apologist. To date you have yet to hear me attempt to defend anyhing that has occurred. I merely say I want to know what actually occured and the whole truth has not been revealed. If the truth hurts Michael Vick then so be it. |

Look, you can write a long, drawn out post, with the intent of deflecting from the truth, but your post is still what it is, a big stinky pile of BS. |

1 We al know, Surry County Investigator Bill Brinkman got the Michael Vick case in full swing. Brinkman gave Surry County Commonwealth Attorney a chance to act, but he was dragging his feet. Worried the case will go away, he called federal investigators. Days later, the feds took over, searching the property and unearthing dead dogs. Last March, after another high profile case in Surry, I was shock to learn, Brinkman is out of a job – he was fired two days after Vick was sentence last December. And no one outside of the Surry County area seems to care besides some of us who are part of the transportation link between Surry and James City County. On October 2, 2006, Bill Brinkman arrested a well-known businessman in Surry County. He was charged with possession with the intent to distribute, possession of a class II drug, distribution of cocaine, and obstructing justice. The trial was rescheduled 5 times. Finally, on January 22, 2008, the trial was set for March 25, 2008. At trial, all charges were Nolle Prosequi – lack of evidence. The evidence was Bill Brinkman. This businessman is a business neighbor of the Surry County Commonwealth Attorney. Two days after Vick was sentenced to 23 months in prison, Surry County Sheriff fired Brinkman. On April 29, Channel 13 news did an exclusive followed by a Virginia Pilot news article. At this moment, not one news agency on the Peninsula carried the news. Vick’s state charges are to be heard on June 27, 2008. With Brinkman’s firing, the Commonwealth Attorney has set the table for the state charges against Michael Vick to be dismissed. Right now, Vick is facing dog-fighting charges only. The killing of eight dogs was dismissed. Hopefully, the Surry Commonwealth Attorney office and the Sheriff Department will be properly scrutinized. In the end I hope, another prosecutor make a meaningful effort to obtain an indictment against Vick for the disturbing actions to which he already admitted – taking an active role in the killing of innocent dogs deemed not good enough to die fighting. Fired deputies do not collect unemployment pay. |

I read somewhere that Pointy's file on Vick was empty.

Well isn't that a shame....maybe some animal rights group can give him a job. Doesn't he have any skills that can easily translate to a new job?? I thought the phrase "crime doesn't pay" was supposed to refer to Vick...looks like it applies to Brinkman..LOL

1 Did Bill Brinkman also call the Fed regarding the drug warlord? I hope so. Looks like it's the drug warlord that put Brinkman out of business and Poindexter had the Vick case as a scape goat. Business as usual...corruption in small town USA. |

1 I think that Brinkman is feeling the same sting that the man that thwarted the Watergate break in did. He'll get his just reward by and by. |

1 Surely one of the many animal rights groups that was so grateful for his service should be readily employing him in some capacity as an investigator.....but last I checked those very vocal groups were hollering that the winnings from Eight Belles should be forfeited and given to them.....they've moved on, while Brinkman is left with no job and no home. |

1 What about the Fed...ATF, or FBI? They could give him a job as well. It's something fishy about this whole thing. The sheriff can be discharged for no reason and he can't receive unemployment either. Maybe Arthur Blank can hire him, or Anbreen's Animal Cop friend, maybe he can help him get a position. There are so many possibilities for this guy. |
