His name is Hector. He was Michael Vick's.

Wallace, a stray pit bull that was about to be euthanized, became a champion disc catching dog, thanks to Andrew "Roo" Yori.

I hope Hector has found his "charmed" life. He is lucky to have found you Andrew. Seeing how you interact with him, I am sure you feel lucky to have found him (and Wallace), too! From one animal lover to another - thank you for loving and caring for these beautiful and often misunderstood pets.

Do everyone a favor and put the dog to sleep. Let's get rid of the breed entirely. here are y too many documented unprovoked attacks on people by these killers. They were bred fr one reason, to kill anther dog or be killed. no one needs that kind of animal. There are plenty of good family dogs to chose from that never attack anyone.

The news reported just last night that a study showed the most aggressive and most likely to attack breed is the Daschund, followed by the Chihuahuas and the the Jack Russell. Pit Bulls didn't make the top three. Small dogs can and do inflict serious injury, especially to children. Large breed dogs have a "bigger" bite and shouldn't be owned by everyone. Some people think bigger is better and don't have a clue as to what it takes to own and train a large dog properly. Stop blaming the breed and put the blame where it belongs, on the uneducated, ill prepared, little men that have large dogs to boost their little egos. This info is dirested to you especially Dr. W. You have no idea what your talking about.

That doesn't surprise me. I had friends with a Doxie - nasty little cuss.

I wouldn't trust that dog. Best thing to do with that one and all pit bulls is to eliminate them.

You just proved your stupidity. Can you read? The breed is not the problem. The OWNERS are the problem. All the same things were said about a lot of large breed dog, the German Shepard, the Rottweiler and the Doberman were all, at one time, thought to be unsafe. I'll say it again. It's not the breed it's the OWNERS.

Lmao...Oh Brother what a joke.. Shows how little you know.. The worst dog attack on record in the UK was inflicted by a collie. When you take into consideration how many Pit bulls are in the US VS how many bites on record the number pales in comparison to other dog bites from other breeds. There is nothing more dangerous to society than ignorant human beings. More people die at the hands of drunk drivers, who is to blame the driver or the car? Educate yourself before you speak.

You can drop-kick any one of those three (Daschund,Chihuahuas and the Jack Russell) if they attack you at least 50 yards. Now a pit bull on the other hand ... well, he'd have your foot for lunch!

Then tells us, what will that accomplish? All dog attacks will stop? Ignorant pet owners will all disappear? Are you freaking kidding me with that ridiculous post? Eliminate ignorant people.

And so would any large dog. Try drop kicking a Shepard, a doberman or a Golden Retriever for that matter. And by the way Golden's have been known to injure many people. Somehow they never get tagged as unsafe. It must be because thugs don't feel manly walking a Golden down the street. But put a pit on a three inch chain with a spiked collar around his neck and your the man. I just realized why the big, baggy pants are suddenly vogue. Besides hiding the drugs and guns they also cover up their uncontrollable manliness their pit bull arouses.

There will always be the people that say it's the breed. And there will always be people that say it isn't the breed, it's the owner. My personal opinion is that ANY breed of dog can be aggressive, some are more prone to it than others. Responsible dog owners will recognize if they have a potentially aggressive dog and will take the proper measures to ensure the publics safety. I have two dogs, an Australian Shepard and a Yellow Lab. Both are great dogs. They love people and other animals. However, they are NEVER left unsupervised with children or other dogs because you just never know. They are also never let off leash in public parks/areas. I consider myself to be a responsible dog owner and even though my dogs are part of my family and I love them very much, if they ever bit anyone out of aggression, I would have no choice but to put them down.

The possibility is always there but the probability is not because you know and understand what a responsible dog owner should. I have an Akita and a pit and I can't believe the stupidity of the average person towards dogs in general. My dog is not your friend, its my friend. My dog doesn't need to be up close and personal with your dog, they are dogs after all. Keep your kids away from a strange dog. I will keep my dogs leashed and you do the same. Most of this is basic common sense, something a lot of people lack these days. If one of my dogs bit I would be there and would know exactly why, so the decision to put one down would be in response to what actually occurred.

A lot of dummies out there
There will always be two sides
1) those for the animals
2) those against the animals
no one right and no one wrong
because it's how the animal was raised
and sometime animals can change
OOPS oh did you think I was talking about the dog
SORRY no humans
Most everything when it comes into this world start out with a trust behavior and what happens to that trust will determine what the out come and happen to the animal or human

Great story! Any dog can be mean if an evil person teaches them to be mean. Pitbulls used to be called Nanny Dogs because they are so good with children. Andrew - you are to be commended!

The problem here is that this particular dog has been trained to fight. Dogs who have been trained to do nothing but fight are dangerous. They're like time bombs waiting to go off.

I hope Hector is an exception but this guy better keep an eagle eye on him and keep him away from children.
