Where is Davon David Temple? We know where he was in January of this year: in Baltimore District Court, where charges that he trespassed on the grounds of the Walbrook Uniform Services Academy were dropped.

Mr. Kane is right: where is the outrage? It seems as though we now react to real-life murders with the same sense of urgency we display when seeing the aftermath of a murder on "Law & Order."

Mr. Kane correctly pints out that we should all be aware and outraged at the events of this and other murders. I've lived in Baltimore (the city for 20 years, the county for 18) a long time and I can not wait to leave. I can't speak for all, but my feeling is - even tho there's a "new" mayor in the city, nothing has, nor will it ever, change, until the REAL problem is addressed. That is the culture of the people of Baltimore. I have had to move out of neighborhoods because the attitude of the people moving in is "you can't tell me what to do, I'm black." Crime goes up, I leave. It's a simple fact and until the people committing the crime want it to stop,the murders go on and the law abiding people will go somewhere else.

Apathy... I think the problem often appears too big. The communities where the majority of the violence occurs could care less. We all know that murder for some is nothing more than right of passage. Something to brag about, show off through tattoos etc..

We as black people tend to become numb to crimes committed by our own on other races and crimes committed amongst ourselves. We become agitated when the crime is white on black....somehow we lose our "tolerance" for these type of crimes and react as if someone stuck a pin in us.

It will get worse before it gets better. The whole entire adminstration needs to be overhauled. The Baltimore City States Attorney's office is a total mess with poor adminstration. The Mayor is for self. She is more concerend about a underage kid riding a dirt bike and arrested and could care the less about the senseless murder of 2 people whether junkies or not someone loved them. the community does not care becuase the 2 victims are not from the community (narrow-minded). The community should start caring becuase these Gang Goons have no pick. You have to watch what you wear or where you go. It's a shame how adult men and women have to live in fear of there off springs. (Thats another story). The goon who killed the victims does not have long because he into gang violence. It will catch up to him if he does not change his life.

I knew both victims well. What happend is a tragedy and the states attorneys office should be ashamed. Both victims left behind children. The system is screwed and corrupt. Thank you for writting on my friends.

I was a friend of Jennifer's and a good friend to her father. I wish that murderer was at her viewing to see her clutching her unborn baby in her casket. Its an outrage that this man is free and I think we need to go to the national media to bring some justice for what happened.

area but thir are some good and bad thats any place i work for the air port my brother is on the drug task force here in baltimore and he told me that baltimore gangs are tough 187 mafia ganster crips under cover ganster crips but the latino gangs are getting bigger in baltimore ms 13 dominican posse boys he said it is sad because thir are just kids and they are just messing thir lifes up it is a dam sham he told me that gangs are just in the city they are in baltimore county as well towson dundalk randallestown woodlawn eastern baltimore but mothers and fathers have to have munch love for kids teach them that gangs and drugs are not the right way to college is church is the way education is munch better way to go so you can make big money the right way not the wrong way as i walk down the street in park heights i see young girls and boys plying or ridding bikes but the sad thing is i aslo see ms 13 gang tags and some mob crew gang tags but over all park heights is a good area it jewish arfican american asian mexican and cental american i am from queens new york been here 4 years iam dominican but i like people it does not matter what you are as long as you be cool . |

The slaying of a dope-sick junkie, taking "a ride" into a part of town notorious for acts of violence, with full knowledge through his own experiences of where he was going and the inherent dangers is not injustice. This was not Jason Woycio's first encounter with random violence nor his first trip down route 40 to cop dope. In fact Jason Woycio was an ill tempered man with a violent nature and a history of violent crime. His history of non-violent crime showed a blatant lack of respect for people and their personal property. It is easy to paint a less than harsh picture in death, but in life Jason Woycio was not all too different than the boy who shot him. The only injustice is the children that were left behind and murdered that day, because of two parents too self involved to realize the gravity of their choices and the impact of their actions on those closest to them.
