i heard about this festival on cat country and it does sound like fun, i maight make plans to go to it

AHHH Jed, The Confederate flag has EVERYTHING to do with keeping black people subservient to us white people. Read your history. IMO the civil war is over and those who perpetuate the negativity that the confederate flag brings with it, really are racist. I am a local and will attend this event, only if the confederate flag is not used as part of the event. Shame on the organizers for using that flag! We are suppossed to be one nation, the UNITED States of America!!!!

I bet they will have beat the groundhog hole, you know like the mole game, so they will give the the competiters a 16 ounce hammer, take them over to the levee, and the rednecks can whistle and when the groundhogs stick there head out the hole, bingo the levee is saved, I hope ESPN HD 2 comes up and tapes it..

What a great event! Sounds like a lot of fun. Racist? I don't think so. Let's see... take the ten commandments out of the courthouse and God out of our country and the confederate flag out of our history.

If you are so concerned with the American flag being shown, go to Allentown and Bethlehem and tell all the Puerto Ricans to get rid of their flags.

OMG lighten up people. I think this event sounds like a great idea to have some FUN! And get over your confederate flag issues. It's obvious in this photo that the flag is brand new, you can still see the fold marks in it. I'm sure it was just purchased more as a decorative item for the festivities and was not meant in any way to offend anyone! The organizers probably didn't even realize the potential to offend. But then again, it's typical, people like "Oh Well" always look for SOMETHING negative to pounce upon!!!

Have you ever been to Weisport??? If the local girls are in the contest the Daisy Duke shorts will have 40 inch waists, and the contestants will look more like Boss Hawg than Daisy Duke.
